Um, Suzanne Somers, is this your house or a petting zoo? How many "touches" of zebra do you need in there?
She's kind of ruined it for me now. At least for a while.
Thanks for putting the final nail in that trend's coffin.

MEOW
What a lovely hotel, is there a full spa?
Those with NO taste ruining it for the rest of us......
Ruining WHAT for the rest of us?
......ruining the fantasy.
It's taking a good look, chewing it up and projectile puking all over the place.
Jeezus, I could see this in Architectural Digest.
Love the rose petals in the bathtub. Very Danielle Steele.
A little more acid green velvet and we could transport this to the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo.
Anons, keep up the good work.
Wow, I think she bought up all the zebra rugs she could find!! What do we do with this woman?!?!
~Kate
decorno, i think the herd of zebras slaughtered for suzanne de ville's enjoyment is the least troubling aspect of that "home" (word used loosely).
you need to address the real issue:
chair skirts.
Hell to the yeah! Check out those white numbers in the bedroom: She's got 'em decked out in Bjork goose dresses.
Those Fake-O double & triple magnums on the cellar table are vomiting, what is that......oh, wax.
Another plain old stupid, trite and inane "look".
Creepy, too.
It's true, it's tacky as Liberace's shiniest samovar, but I bet Suzanne and Mr. Suzanne thought their Desert Mansion rocked the Casbah, and in the end, that's all that matters.
This made me laugh! I goggled zebra prints, b/c I'm searching about for posts on the topic, and there they all are! Maybe all her original ideas were lost in her fire last year. Oy, that's mean. Great blog!
Wow, talk about overkill!
I tagged you on my blog. :)
I don't hate this nearly as much as all of you (wow!!! such a surprise!) - ok, get rid of all the zebra except one - I like the one in the bedroom with the green curtains. Apparently, this must be a very small place and it was decorated as one space. I like that bedroom and I like the living room/dining room. Plus I like the house itself. The house and decor matches her looks - she's vibrant and blonde and I can just see her in this space. Way too much zebra I agree, for me, but she must like the contrast that the black and white gives against all the white. Where is this? didn't her house burn down, like twice last year or something?
Oh s*** - just read the link, should have done that first - $35 M, ok, so it's NOT small, ok. Palm Springs, not Malibu where her house burned down. ok. I still like those two rooms - maybe with 10 bedrooms those zebras are more spread out. I'm beginning to think that it may be that the photographer shelped the same rug from room to room. That might explain the zebra-itis. OH and Decorno - just a tip, you are going to start getting hate mail from some zebra lover. she'll post using diffeent fake names- but it's always the basic same message. last time i heard from her she was reporting me to PETA for showing a picture of zebra rugs! I swear. Let me know if you hear from her. Besides that, great post - love the Real estalker web site, I had forgotten about it, I'm going to have fun reading it tonight!
OK, I'm sorry - one mo' time. This will teach me for opening my big mouth before reading links ever again! Just read the Real Estalker article on this house and they state that the photographer might have moved the rug from room to room. eeek - I sound like a freaking copyright infringer. ok. Sorry about that. But on a second look at the offending skins, I don't think that's the case. They all look a little different from one another. The pool area is pretty though. oy!
Joni - you crack me up! :)
"The house and decor matches her looks"--
Exactly. They're both completely synthetic.
Yuk. And she has so much money.
